Jane's Addiction Strays ~ 07/22/2003

This album is unquestionably vintage Jane's Addiction. Strays, which comes out 13 years after Jane's last release still delivers exceptional music. It is a good thing to see that some things never change. Strays may be mellower in nature but the resonance remains pretty consistent with the sound of old. Like some of the older generation bands, and by older I mean bands that have been around for 15+ years, with age comes a further refined more mature sound. I thought the album would actually be longer, 13 years is a long time between releases, but alas there are only 11 songs leaving the Strays just shy of 50 minutes. But as I have said in the past I would take quality over quantity any day. I guess with the war on music swapping, bands have been adding bonus DVD's to the package. The DVD basically gives you a behind the scenes look at Jane's and this album. All in all Strays has definitely endured the test of time and is worth picking up.
